EMAX(Lithium Disilicate) restorations
EMAX or lithium disilicate glass is an all ceramic restorations. It is one of the most aesthetically pleasing options, porcelain can be layered on it, creating incredible translucency and a very realistic looking tooth that matches with other natural teeth. While it is the most aesthetic restoration, it is not the strongest with both zirconia and PFM have much higher strength and durability. It can be manufactured with the Press method or wet milling. The press method provides slightly better strength but is a largely analog process whereas the milling utilizes a CAD CAM system. EMAX is recommended for veneers and anterior crowns.
